Communication & Contact with DI Coaches:
During the conduct of the Academy, a Division I coach may not have in-person contact with: the prospective student-athlete (PSA); the prospective student-athlete’s family; the prospective student-athlete's coach; or any individual associated with a prospective student-athlete.
In men’s basketball, a Division I coach may communicate (e.g., call, email, or text) with a prospective student-athlete, prospective student-athlete’s family, and high school coach beginning June 15 after the recruit’s sophomore year — during the time period in which the prospective student-athlete is participating in the NCAA College Basketball Academy.
In women’s basketball, a Division I coach may communicate (e.g., call, email, or text) with a prospective student-athlete, prospective student-athlete’s family, and high school coach beginning June 1 after the recruit’s sophomore year — during the time period in which the prospective student-athlete is participating in the NCAA College Basketball Academy.
Related to DI Institutions in Locale of Academy:
Prospective student-athletes (PSA) may not take unofficial visits in July unless they have signed a National Letter of Intent (NLI), or signed the institution’s written offer of admission and/or financial aid, or unless the institution has received a financial deposit.
If a prospective student-athlete is receiving expenses from the NCAA (e.g., travel, meal stipend) associated with their participation in the NCAA College Basketball Academy, the prospective student-athlete may not engage in official or unofficial visits at institutions in the locale of the Academy. Even if a prospective student-athlete is not receiving any expenses from the NCAA associated with participation in the NCAA College Basketball Academy, any visit to an institution in the locale of the Academy must occur before the prospective student-athlete reports for the Academy or after they depart and are released from the Academy.
If specific questions arise, prospective student-athletes and their families are encouraged to consult the athletics compliance personnel of the institutions that may be recruiting them.
